By choosing peace-giving thoughts and ignoring destructive ones, we align with the inner voice - the divine guide within.
Every action begins in the mind. Without the mind, no action is possible. Even the senses cannot function fully unless the mind collaborates with them.
For example: imagine you are at a bus stop, deeply engrossed in study. A bus may pass by with noise, but you do not notice it. Why? Because the sound did reach your ears, but the mind chose not to accept it. The mind was absorbed in study, and so the ear did not truly “hear.”
This reveals a profound truth: senses alone do not create action. The mind must first accept the information, shape it into thought, and only then can it manifest as action and result.
The Dual Nature of Mind
The mind is always in a state of duality: to do or not to do. It hesitates, questions, and weighs. Sometimes the inner voice — the antaratma (soul’s whisper) — says: “Do not do it.” Yet the mind, influenced by external attractions and attachments, ignores this guidance. This weakness is the pull of the material world.
Thus, good and bad thoughts alike first arise in the mind, and only then flow into action.
🌿 Which Thoughts to Nurture?
Thoughts that bring guilt, shame, or fear — should be let go.
Thoughts that give courage, peace, fulfillment, and joy — should be cultivated.
When we honor the voice of the inner self, our actions uplift us. When we betray it, our actions bind us.
🔄 Consequences of Mental Actions
Even without outward action, thoughts leave an imprint.
A disturbed person suffers pain at the mind level even if the body is still.
If one dwells on anger, greed, or anxiety throughout the day, the mind transmits this vibration into the body. This affects health, emotions, and even one’s environment.
Indeed, our thoughts radiate outward. They influence not only our own body but also others around us, shaping the atmosphere.
⚖️ The Law of Responsibility
Who bears the weight of these mental vibrations?
We ourselves do. No one else. The responsibility for our thoughts — whether they create harmony or disturbance — lies entirely within us.
Essence:
All actions begin in the mind.
Thoughts must be purified, because they ripple into our body, relationships, and the world.
By choosing peace-giving thoughts and ignoring destructive ones, we align with the inner voice — the divine guide within.
